Central Park is the flagship of the Doylestown Township park system. It stretches from Wells Road to New Britain Road, connected by paved and wooded bike-and-hike trails through meadows, wetlands, and forest. Whether you’re a biker, walker, nature lover, or here for a game or a concert, there’s something for everyone.

Two Ways In

Wells Road entrance (main entrance)
Home to the Community Recreation Center, Kids Castle, the amphitheater, sport courts, and pavilions. Parking and permanent accessible restrooms are available.

New Britain Road entrance
Located next to the 202 Parkway Trailhead, with ample parking, rest areas, and a porta-potty. Open vistas look out over soccer fields lined by woods and old-growth trees. This is also the start of the Circuit Trails network, which leads to Montgomeryville and beyond.

Play

  • Kids Castle Playground: multi-level imaginative play, surrounded by creative and diverse play areas
  • Tot lot next to the soccer fields, for younger children
  • Sensory trail at the edge of the woods, with engaging activities for all children

Please note: Kids’ Castle group visits (camps, schools, daycares, nonprofits, and organized groups of any size) are no longer permitted. Kids’ Castle remains open to individual families and the public during regular hours.

Sports & Fitness

  • Athletic fields (soccer, lacrosse, and more)
  • Outdoor sport courts: basketball, tennis, pickleball, and bocce
  • Disc golf course
  • Outdoor concrete cornhole
  • Adult functional exercise area (LifeTrail®), with exercise stations along the trails
  • Community Recreation Center (CRC): indoor basketball, volleyball, pickleball, programs, and rentals

Sport Courts

Right next to the Community Recreation Center, Central Park’s 14 lighted outdoor sport courts are an ideal destination for players of all ages and skill levels.

  • Tennis: 4 courts
  • Pickleball: 6 courts
  • Basketball: 2 courts
  • Bocce: 2 courts

Court lights turn on at dusk and turn off at 10:00 PM.

Courts are first-come, first-served unless a Township program or reserved event is scheduled. View the court schedule for open times.

Prefer to play indoors? Check out drop-in pickleball and basketball at the Community Recreation Center.

Central Park connects to the 202 Parkway Trail, Kutz Elementary School, Neamand Park, Destination Doylestown, and the proposed Neshaminy Greenway Trail.

Visiting with Your Dog

All Township parks welcome well-behaved, leashed dogs. Please pick up after your pet.
