On April 24, 2025 Chief Zeigler and Det. Cpl. Chris Power attended the Pa Chiefs of Police meeting in Harrisburg. During the meeting, the Doylestown Township Police Department received a unanimous vote by the board and were again recognized as an accredited law enforcement agency. This accredited designation remains for a total of 3 years. In 2028, the Doylestown Township Police Department will be reviewed again for another 3 year accreditation period. Currently there are only 184 Accredited agencies within Pennsylvania. What is Accreditation? (Pa Chiefs of Police) Accreditation is a progressive and time-proven way of helping institutions evaluate and improve their overall performance. The cornerstone of this strategy lies in the promulgation of standards containing a clear statement of professional objectives. Participating administrators then conduct a thorough analysis to determine how existing operations can be adapted to meet these objectives. When the procedures are in place, a team of independent professionals is assigned to verify that all applicable standards have been successfully implemented. The process culminates with a decision by an authoritative body that the institution is worthy of accreditation. Thank you to all of the Doylestown Township officers for their hard work and their attention to detail to make this an ongoing achievement.
