Doylestown Community Bike and Hike Teams Up with Welding & Collision Repair Technology Classes from Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT) to Expand Iconic Bridge Silhouettes
Building upon the town's existing charm, Doylestown's Bike and Hike Committee has forged a partnership with the Welding and Collision Repair Technology Class at MBIT to amplify the presence of iconic bridge silhouettes across the community. In a collaborative effort, the two groups are working together to replicate additional silhouettes on which will be placed on bridges and overpasses in the community.
Judy Hendrixson, a dedicated member of Doylestown's Bike & Hike Committee, and Andrea Susten, Assistant Township Manager, visited Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT) on Thursday, April 25, 2024, to meet with James Haimovitz, welding instructor, Ron Reimel, collision repair technology instructor, and all their students who invested their time and talents to trace out, plasma cut, grind, sand, file, and paint the silhouettes for the Doylestown community.
During the visit, MBIT's instructors offered valuable insights into the process of crafting the silhouettes, shedding light on the technical aspects of welding and fabrication. It was clear that the dedication of MBIT's instructors is imperative in providing practical knowledge to students and fostering a culture of excellence in craftsmanship.
We are incredibly excited to expand this partnership and continue collaborating with the community in this way!
