Township Parks are open to the public from dawn to dusk.

Q. Is alcohol permitted within the Township’s park system?

Township ordinance prohibits the consumption of alcohol on any township property, including the Township park system.

Q. Is smoking permitted within the Township’s park system?

Township ordinance prohibits smoking on all township property, including the Township park system.  In addition, there is a $1000 fine for littering of cigarette butts on Township property.

Q. Are discounted tickets available through the Township?

Discounted tickets for some of the area amusement parks, museums and ski areas are available through the Parks and Recreation Department. All transactions must be done in person at the Administration Office and all sales are final. A list of seasonal ticket offerings is available at www.doylestownrec.com. Q. How can I reserve a pavilion in Central Park?

There are two pavilions in Central Park. Pavilion 1 is located adjacent to the playing fields at the center of the park, and Pavilion 2 is located near Kids Castle. Pavilions can be reserved through the Township Administration Office and require submission of the Pavilion Rental Form, payment, and security deposit.

Q. How can I reserve an athletic field/court in one of the Township’s parks?

The Township’s park system includes multi-purpose fields, baseball/softball fields, and tennis courts. These facilities can be rented on a daily or seasonal basis. To download the rental application please click here. All items listed on the application must be submitted to the Administration Office and reviewed by the Director of Parks and Recreation.

Q. How can I reserve Central Park for a special event or fundraiser?

Special Event Applications are required and must be submitted must be submitted to the Administration Office a minimum of 60 days prior to the proposed event. The Special Event Application can be downloaded here.

Q. How do I sign up for a recreation program?

Program registration is available online through www.doylestownrec.com, by calling the Administration Office at 215-348-9915, or by visiting the office in person. Mail-in registration form are also accepted and can be found at the back of the printed seasonal program guide, which is mailed to all Doylestown households. Accepted forms of payment include credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discover), cash (in-person), or check (in-person or mailed-in).

Q. Where are Doylestown Township Parks & Recreation programs held?

The majority of the programs offered by Doylestown Township are held on Township property. Indoor programs are held in either the Activity Center Trailer, located adjacent to the tennis courts and to the right as you enter Central Park, or in the Community Meeting Room, located in the Township Building. Both facilities are located at 425 Wells Rd. Outdoor programs can be held at any of the township’s park facilities. Please be sure to check the location of a program when registering.

Q. How do I know if a program is cancelled due to inclement weather?

If a program is cancelled due to inclement weather we will make every effort to contact participants in a timely manner.  Direct communication will be done by email or phone so it is very important that we have correct contact information for all participants. In addition, cancellation information will be posted as an alert at www.doylestownrec.com and on the Township’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

Q. What is the Township’s refund policy for programs or rentals?

Refund requests will be handled according to the following guidelines:

  • Full refunds are issued for programs that are canceled by the Township.
  • Up to 14 business days prior to the start of any program a $20 administrative fee will be deducted for all refund requests. No refunds will be issued within 14 business days or after the start of any program. In the event of medical emergency, written verification from a physician will be required. Approved requests will be prorated to reflect attendance and a $20 administrative fee will be deducted.
  • There are no cash refunds. All approved refunds will be issued via township check or account credit.
  • Facility Rentals: No refunds will be issued within two weeks of pavilion rental. In the event of inclement weather, notification of non-use must be made 24-hrs. prior to the scheduled use day – No later than Friday at 4pm if the rental is scheduled for a weekend. Attempts will be made to reschedule any facility rental.
  • Other conditions may exist for programs that run cooperatively with outside providers and may include non-refundable fees.
  • Trip programs: Refunds are issued only if the seat can be re-sold or if the trip is canceled.
  • Dog Park Membership: Membership is valid for one year. There are no refunds associated with the dog park.
Q. Can I run a program/private lesson within one of the Township’s parks?

Private instruction of any kind that is done for personal gain is prohibited within the Township park system. All programs run within the parks must be done in partnership with Doylestown Township Parks and Recreation. Interested instructors or program providers should fill out and submit the Program Proposal Form & Guidelines, and send to kfinley@doylestownpa.org for consideration.

Q. Are dogs permitted within the Township’s parks?

According to Township Ordinance, dogs are permitted within the Township’s park system but must be kept on-leash at all times. The only exception is the off-leash area of the Doylestown Dog Park. For details and membership information regarding the dog park please click here.

Q. How do I register for the Doylestown Dog Park?

The Doylestown Dog Park is a membership based facility. To become a member, interested users must attend a mandatory orientation session, provide all required registration documents and make payment to the Township. Q. Can I rent Kids Castle for an event?

Kids Castle is free and open to the public every day from dawn to dusk. The castle structure and surrounding play area cannot be reserved itself, however, a pavilion adjacent to Kids Castle may be reserved for picnics, birthday parties, etc. To reserve a pavilion please download the Pavilion Rental Form.

Q. Can I bring a group (e.g. school, camp, etc.) to Kids Castle?

All groups wishing to visit Kids Castle must register with the Administration Office in advance. The cost to bring a group is $5/child and a ratio of 1 adult per 8 children is required. Groups are permitted at Kids Castle on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from 10 am to 3 pm. There is a maximum of 125 children per day for group visits to Kids Castle.
