About The Park System
The Doylestown Township Park System was created in 1971 with the acquisition of the 13-acre Sauerman Park. In the years that followed additional park land was acquired including the Ridings Tract, Turk Park, Bridgepoint Park, Neamand Park, Castle Valley and Triangle Park. Central Park was opened for public use in 1995.To date, the township maintains over 700 acres of park land (400 as active park areas) and 30 miles of bike/hike trails and provides both active and passive recreation opportunities.
Event proceeds over the years have enhanced the park system and provided beneficial opportunities for the community including octagonal pavilion, environmental education areas, Game Grove, band shell, Kids Castle, LifeTrail (adult functional fitness), Sensory Trail, bocce courts and more. As a result, tens of thousands of people within the community and surrounding areas have benefited from what the park system has to offer.
Current projects under include relocation and construction of new courts (tennis, basketball and pickleball) and a community recreation center providing indoor space for passive, active and rental opportunities for all ages.
YOUR participation, sponsorship and support will make a difference for generations to come.
