Castle Valley Park

Located off Lower State & Almshouse Roads.  If you love to fish or just seek tranquility, this is a park you've got to check out.

This tract is 3.8 acres transformed from a dumping site to a beautiful park.  Part of the Neshaminy Creek Watershed Rivers Conservation Project, funded by PA DCNR Keystone Grants, the streambank was cleaned up and approximately 100 tree saplings were planted; minor renovations were made to the parking lot and picnic benches have been placed along the walking trail.  A split-rail fence, waterfront steps, nature trail and education kiosks were all constructed with the help of both volunteers and Doylestown Township's Parks Department.

On Saturday, May 22, 1999 volunteer and staff efforts peaked as Castle Valley Park became the newest addition to Doylestown Township's Park System as well as part of Bucks County's Link Park System.

Central Park

Adjacent to the Township Building on Wells Road, you will find the 108 acre family-oriented park providing for a multitude of active and passive recreational opportunities.

Amenities of the park include: 5 tennis courts with coin operated lighting, 2 basketball courts with coin operated lighting, 1 volleyball court, 1 Tot Lot play area, 3 soccer fields, 1 Golf Link (135-150 yards), 2 picnic pavilions (reservations are made through Doylestown Township Administration), 1 amphitheater, 1.5 miles of biking/hiking/jogging trails, Kids Castle and a 21 station Health Check donated by Doylestown Hospital.

Kids Castle is an eight story wooden playground structure designed & named by children of Doylestown Township through an art contest in 1996.  On February 5, 1997, Kids Castle Committee, Township staff, residents and children of the community met with architect Bob Leathers of Leathers Associates, Ithaca, New York to work on refining the initial playground design.

Thanks to the efforts of over three thousand dedicated volunteers and the generosity of numerous sponsors, Kids Castle became a reality on Sunday, June 22, 1997.   In October 1996, the playground committee chaired by Jeff and Dawn Byers began the overwhelming task of overseeing the entire playground project.  The committee raised over $200,000, recruited volunteers and acquisitioned countless tools, construction materials, tents, trailers, food service, and child care.  This culminated in the monumental task of constructing the playground in a twelve day period!

The call went out, and the community responded.  Volunteers young and old came together to work side by side with the architectural staff to bring the children's vision of a dream playground come to life. As you cross over the drawbridge, you enter a magical world that includes a 35-foot high castle with a huge twisty slide, a very friendly dragon, a tree house, a barn yard, a rocket ship, a downtown promenade for toddlers, a multitude of slides and swings and a children's amphitheater.
